What the Indian Government wardrobe is made of

The Narendra Modi Government has not only revolutionized the working of the system but has, to a very large extent, influenced people’s wardrobe. The Government is represented by men and women in Nehru/Modi jackets, kurtas, sarees and Bandhgala suits. The sale of some of the products has risen as people getting influenced with material choices of Khadi, Silk, and pure cotton which symbolize right thinking in India.

Nehru jackets are worn by almost every male minister and largely by our very own Prime Minister. They are made of Khadi/cotton which is comfortable and classy. Nehru jacket is easy to wear by all ages and is versatile in that it can be worn with a kurta or a shirt and pajamas or pants.
The women ministers and not far behind the male ones and have glamorized the Indian politics with their luscious saree choices. Silk sarees are traditional and are worn by women in politics through the ages and looks great on any body type. Silk sarees can be worn in any season but preferably they are worn during winters. Sushma Swaraj is seen keenly following the silk saree trend whereas Sonia Gandhi and Smriti Iran are assumed to have fond of Cotton suits and sarees. Shawls are also seen large in numbers in both Houses.

Indian politics has risen in expectations in every sphere. They delight everyone with their style throughout the world!

Immediate steps are being taken to tackle the worsening air quality in the city. The govt has put restrictions on all construction activities and other polluting Industries. The city is covered with toxic smog and many have complained of irritation in eyes and throat. The air, dangerous for children and adults alike, is recorded at ten times the permissible levels of PM2.5 and PM10.

Gludo, the online aggregator for 25 million products in India, can perhaps come to the rescue with air purifiers and pollution masks or other sophisticated masks which can be bought online. There are other useful products for bikers too. Prevent risks of acquiring asthma or wheezing by using these masks. Banning construction activities and thermal power plants for a short time will definitely not solve the problem. Stringent measures have to be taken and each individual has to take the responsibility. It is difficult but not impossible and has to be a joint effort to improve the life of every person.

The Top Varieties Of Sarees/Sari/Sadi To Buy In India

The Sari/Saree/Sadi attire has been popular in India from centuries ago. No clear signs of its origin, but its fair to say that it is the easiest geometric shape to weave for traditional weavers. The length that a sari has allows it to be wrapped in several ways – the Coorgi way, the Bollywood way, the traditional South Indian way or the dhoti saree. Click on the images to buy these sarees on Gludo.com. There are sarees classified by place of origin, by material type and here we showed you a few draping styles.

Top 10 Smartphones to Buy in India in Any Year

How many times have we not tried to find the best smartphones in India. A quick search on google leads to several auto-complete suggestions of the best Android phones. But, who is to tell, which ones they are?

The real issue for someone researching on the Internet to buy a smartphone is to first collate all the ones that are even available. There are atleast 25 brands of phones and each brand has a few flagships and hence it is utterly confusing to buyers.

We have seen a plethora of blog posts – “Top 10 Smartphones in India”, “Best Android Phones under 15000”, “Smartphones under 20000”. The relevance of such blog posts is low as smartphones get obsolete in a few months.

The only way to address the problem is to bank on Gludo to help you in such cases. We created a fast filter tool on top of the mobiles page exactly to solve this problem. The user gets to choose a feature, or a combination of features and can quickly zone in on a few phones to buy and since Gludo is a price comparison site, you know exactly where to buy to get your best deal.

5 Health Monitors To Save Lives

The human body usually gives us enough indication that something could be wrong in its functioning. We need to observe and monitor our bodies to really understand what these indications or signals are. We compiled a page full of these health monitors that we especially think is of importance with elders at home.

Weight –

Don’t you remember those weighing scales your doctor would ask you step on? I am sure this would be one of your favorite moments at a doctor’s. Times have changed, they are digital weighing scales and look sexier today.

Blood Pressure –

A large population is susceptible to high or low blood pressure across the world. Once, you suffer from variations in blood pressure, your lifestyle needs to change – food, habits, exercise, work-life balance and also requires you to keep monitoring it regularly to notice and correct.

Blood Glucose Levels –

Blood glucose fluctuations are common in diabetics. Unchecked variations in blood sugar/glucose levels damages organs in the long run. It becomes imperative to regularly monitor sugar levels and today it can be done by the patient at home. Must have at home.

Pulse rate –

Again, a simple test done by the doctor every time you visit them. Heart pulse rate monitoring becomes routine for patients suffering from abnormal blood pressure. We have listed a cool, digital pulse rate monitor.

Body temperature –

The first sign of a viral/bacterial infection is noticeable via high body temperatures. Granted, this is needed when a patient suffers from one of these diseases, but it is a must have in every home. Very high body temperatures if unmonitored can permanently damage your body.

Scratch your own itch

As one approaches the 20s (later if you are lucky!), one starts to realize one’s parents are not invincible. They have health issues. The problem I felt was that every time some new problem happened, it was a surprise. I am sure it was not just because I felt my parents were eating healthy, had no bad habits, were exercising etc. Even the people that should probably expect problems are caught unprepared when bad things actually happen.

This feeling of unpreparedness is really frustrating. It would be nice if there were some list of resources to deal with these situations. A lot of the problems that arise in these situations are unnecessarily new. There are several products that exist to handle issues that crop up, but awareness is lacking.

So, we at Gludo decided to launch user-based shops. Users who are stuck unprepared in unfamiliar territory, need a list of all use-cases that an ailment will entail and, thus, a union of all products from all use-cases implied by the health event. We call this union a user-based shop, with curated products that are relevant to that situation.

The first of these we are launching is the Gludo Silver Years shop. We showcase here the products that may be required for older users facing various issues from age.

Each of these specialized shops will be organized into sections. Thus, Silver Years is organized into

  • Mobility Aids
  • Health Monitoring
  • For Active Parents
  • Bedside Care
  • Household Comfort

One of the most irritating parts of recuperation is being stuck at home, not because the doctor has advised rest but because some aspect of functionality required for getting out and about is impaired. For some people it is knees. For some people, it is balance. For some, it is strength. For some, it is a specific other local problem. The great thing with the rise of the long tail in commerce is that products have arisen to serve these niches. Some of the old products had problems which have now been handled e.g. walking sticks would easily fall down. If you had bad joints, which was often the reason for needing the walking stick, having to bend down to pick it up was doubly annoying. Enter the upright stick with its own support.

Once parents have recuperated, there is often ongoing monitoring required. Some folks prefer to get even routine stuff like glucose or BP done by a doctor or lab, but it is much more convenient and regular to do it at home. There is a plethora of home-use monitors that can be deployed for the need and we have selected the most common ones.

Once parents recover, they get moving and travelling or they can get more comfortable at home if they prefer the grandkids to come to them! We cover some of these needs in the next two sections.

As they get older, some changes and assistance to personal, daily care are useful for them to continue to feel self-reliant and to maintain their dignity.

We will be launching more user-based shops soon. Ideas for new shops, as well as products to include in them are very welcome.

So that’s how we figuratively scratched our own itch. But, if you want to get really literal about it, check out this backscratcher.

50 Must Have Products For Your Parents

After having crawled nearly 30m (3 crore!) products, Gludo is currently the broadest, e-commerce marketplace in India. We have solved many challenging technological problems to improve accuracy, performance and ease of use. We know there is still a lot of work to be done. We want to take this moment to thank our users who visit our stores regularly to buy.

We believe we need to make it easier for users to find products that are –

a. Pre-researched to uniquely satisfy their needs

b. Priced the lowest in the market

c. Called out to be useful by users and experts

We therefore are launching a new concept called the Gludo Mall which would contain expert-run stores that should help users buy products that are pre-researched and get them all in one place, just like in an offline store.

The first of the stores that we introduce is the Gludo Silver Years – A store where you will find, all in one place, products that you must ensure your parents must have with them.
