Lesser the better?

She wore Atelier Versace gown at Billboards Music Awards 2016 in Las Vegas, and looked sizzling hot. The buckle strap in her outfit just killed it. She did not overdo by wearing jewelry and kept it subtle and classy. Her fishtail braid hairstyle was also going well with the backless gown. Even if she has left India, it isn’t that India is not with her!

Kangana is Kween!

Whether onscreen or offscreen, Kangana Ranaut never lets us down. In the movie Queen, we found Kangana wearing colourful Kurtis and Jeans, looked as simple as the role demanded. Later in Tanu weds Manu Returns, Tanu’s bindass attitude was reflected in her dressing. She wears short fitted kurtis with bright colorful patialas teamed up with dupattas or scarfs. The “Bawri ho gayi” dress when she wore red kurti with mirror work had made her look super stunning. The off white Kurti which she wore with Plazzo pants gave her a classy look. Plazzos and Kurtis fits well for workplaces and parties. They are a perfect summer outfit- comfortable yet stylish. Kangana was also spotted in white long Kurti and grey flaired Skirt, this made her look totally glamourous. This type of look is perfect for festive season.

Check out yellow polka dot shirts with lime green palazzos, or orange polka dot kurtis with a denim jacket. Match them with fun patchwork bags for a sunny start to your week.

Yesteryear Polka!

Yesteryear Polka!

Who doesn’t remember Polka dot sarees from the 60’s? Nutan, Asha Parekh, and Mumtaz sported some delightful polka dot fashions.

What’s next? Checkered patterns of all colors and sizes.

Blue checks look great on a shirt, skirt or shorts.

You get the drift.

From a light weight polka dot blouse and casual skinny fit bike trousers from Zara’s to a delicately embroidered Topshop smock dress, Kate Middleton rocked comfort and style during her trip to India and Bhutan in April 2016.
The breezy chiffon maxi with a bold blue green pattern seemed perfect for a casual evening at the national park.
The Green lace dress was a soothing addition to the vibrant red and blue colors at red carpet events.
My favorite was the Blue and white embroidered dress that seemed to reflect the pristine beauty of the surroundings. The stunning oriental blue print by Naeem Khan with its intricate embroidery and design added a quiet magnificence.

Gifts for wine lovers

In India, a “wine shop” sells not just wine, but beer, whiskey (which is really made from molasses not grain, so is rum), rum, vodka and almost no wine.

Aggregate views of RATINGS AND Reviews

Screen Shot 2015-10-21 at 13.36.43One of the most important determinants of purchase is the reviews for a product. We have aggregated information about reviews in an easily digestible form – we show the total number of reviews across multiple sites as well as the fraction of them that are favourable. We hope that this helps making decisions quickly without taking too much time. If someone wants to read individual reviews, they are taken to the respective merchant sites.

Desi look mein phoren maal

If you have been on a traffic light in any Indian city, you have seen the peddlers hawking this bug-buzzing-bat.

One of the major benefits of bats (the upside-down-mammal type, not the hold-it-up-when-you-get-a-century type) is that they keep insect pests in check. Seeing one of these always reminds me of the only Batman that is better than Nolan’s i.e. Mungeri Lal’s. For those of us who were of voting age when MMS silently stepped into the PM chair, “Batman Batman Chimgadad Batman” was a much more memorable knight than the Dark one.

The keet-naashak-bat bat deals so well with a completely Indian problem within completely Indian constraints, that it was easy for me to think  it was an indigenous invention. I was disappointed to learn that while it is not firang, it is not Indian either. The patent for this was awarded to Taiwanese inventor Tsao-i Shih in 1996 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fly-killing_device#Electric_flyswatter).

Worse still it is, to learn that Mungeri Lal is actually an American. The character is loosely based on Walter Mitty, the one recently brought to film.

Oh well, at least, we will always have Chess!
